It is no good Labour councillor Alison Moore trying to pretend the issue of post office closures revolves around the consultation period ("Councillors back the Times Series campaign", March 6).
We, the public, don't want a consultation period - we want all our post offices to remain open and to be supported by all types of Government transactions (such as TV licensing).
It is Labour Government policy to let our post offices go to the wall, so Ms Moore is misleading us by trying to blame the Conservatives - an example of cheap political opportunism, equalled only by Enfield MP and Labour junior Government minister Joan Ryan, who appeared at the head of last year's protest against the proposed closure of Chase Farm's Hospital's A&E department, when it is her Labour Government that is running down the NHS.
The word on the street is that Ms Moore hopes to succeed Dr Rudi Vis as MP for Finchley and Golders Green at the next general election. If so, she should expect a few reminders from the electorate of her hypocrisy over post office closures.
