Part of a Finchley restaurant's ground floor was destroyed after a fire broke out in the kitchen.
Fire services were called to the blaze in Regents Park Road just after 10.05pm on Thursday (December 22).
The London Fire Brigade said that the extraction system was damaged along with the ground floor.
However there were no reports of any injuries.
Around 25 firefighters and four fire engines attended from Finchley, Hendon and West Hampstead.
It was under control by 11.27pm.
A London Fire Brigade spokesperson said: “Fires are more likely to start in the kitchen than any other room in the home.
“Stay safe this Christmas by following our simple cooking tips. Cooking should never be left unattended on the hob or grill - if you have to leave the kitchen, turn off the heat.
“Double check the cooker and hob are turned off when you’ve finished cooking.”
