The Frank Griffith Nonet has a close connection with Chickenshed, which band leader Mr Griffith says, "has got a home feel about it."
The ensemble includes both veteran and young performers and features a new singer, Georgia Mancio, who joined the band just one month ago.
During the group’s 12-year history they have regularly at Ealing Jazz Festival, the 100 Club and across London.
Their music is a mixture of Miles Davis, Gerry Mulligan and Thelonious Monk tunes, as well as original material.
The band will be playing at Chickenshed Jazz Bar, in Chase Side, Southgate, on September 5, at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 (£7.50 concessions), with proceeds going to Chickenshed. Call 020 8292 9222 for bookings.
