AN ASPIRING model from Potters Bar is touting for votes to help her win a nationwide competition.

Karen Reid, 33, from Cranborne Road, is one of 32 young beauties vying for a place in the UK Face of Fashion final.

If she wins this heat, she will compete against 59 finalists to snare a place in the Grand Final, due to take place next February.

She is currently in third place in the heat, with 61 votes. The frontrunner, Annalieza P, has 154 votes.

The overall winner will walk away with £1,000 in cash, plus other prizes that include a lucrative photoshoot and online portfolio.

Miss Reid urged Barnet and Hertfordshire residents to vote for her. She said: "I wanted to be a model back in my teens but never had the opportunity as I had two children.

"I would love to be in the world of modelling and this would be a great opportunity for me to break the ice into an industry it is tough to get into.

"To me modelling is a form of art and I love to express myself through beauty and elegance, and that is what I feel as a model in front of the camera.

"People should vote for me because I am their local girl and I would love this to be the start of my modelling career.

"I want voters to keep in mind that I am humble, dedicated, real, and this is only the beginning of my dreams."
