After last week’s miserable tally, a fair feast of goals and wins to bring back the entertainment.

The 1st team are having no luck at Esthameians lately. They missed a penalty in the first half and even went 2-1 up in extra time but couldn’t hold on to it. No holding Sam Berry though who moves quietly into 2nd place of the goalscorers.

Not a bad day for the rest but all 3 games at Alan Drive kept the crowd on tenterhooks until the final minutes.

The 2nds could easily have lost their game against a lively Carshalton but despite not quite reaching top gear had enough up-front to save the match. They piled on the pressure in the final 10 minutes and got their just rewards. In this period there was nearly a goal of the season from Rowan Innes who set off on a mazy run around countless defenders, exchanged passes as he entered the penalty box to totally open up the goal, went round the goalkeeper with ease, but ran out pitch at the vital moment.

The winner came shortly afterwards after good work by James Bradshaw who’s well hit shot was spilled to Ian Chambers.

A great result for the 3rds at Owens with Ed Dixon getting his first goal since his serious leg break nearly 2 years ago.

The 4ths came back from 1-3 down to win yet another high scoring cliff hanger and should retain their 2nd place.

The 5ths matched the same score to gain ground in their division.

The 6ths had a very close encounter with Lloyds which looked like heading for extra time until man of the match Phil Seller rose like a salmon at the far post to power home a winning header. He then ran further in celebration than Adebayor against Arsenal!

The 7ths were 1-4 down at one point so did well to fight back to 4-4 before being pipped at the post.
