RESTAURANT chain Tootsies, which has an outlet in Brent Cross shopping centre has gone into administration.

However, staff at the eatery in the shopping centre has been saved from redundancy as rival restaurant chain Giraffe have taken it on, along with ten others.

It will be run under licence as Tootsies until it can be converted and has safeguarded 275 full and part-time jobs in the 11 restaurants.

A statement from Clapham Hose, which owns Tootsies, said: “Given the current economic outlook and the prolonged downturn in trading and profitability at the Tootsies business, the Clapham House Board believes that there is little prospect of the Tootsies business as a whole generating a profit in the near future.”
