A FORMER mayor of Barnet and long-serving councillor has died.
Fred Poole, who represented Hendon on the council between 1986 and 1998 and was first citizen of the borough from 1992 to 1993, died on Wednesday.
He leaves behind a widow, Phyllis, who served as his mayoress.
His funeral will beheld at Hendon crematorium at 12.15pm on Monday, February 8.
Current Mayor of Barnet Councillor Brian Coleman said: “Fred was a devoted servant of this borough. He was a first-class mayor and councillor and left a lasting impression on those who met him."
