RESIDENTS of a Golders Green street will soon be welcoming new neighbours as the infamous property that housed The X Factor contestants is up for sale.

The luxury home in West Heath Avenue - which acted as a temporary home for the contestants of the ITV talent show - is now back on the market at a cool asking price of £5.65million.

The “modern architectural” property in Golders Green became a hub of media frenzy towards the end of 2009, when the X Factor’s 12 finalists moved into the residence.

Residents complained about screaming fans congregating on the pavements and scrawling graffiti on hoardings across the front of the property.

The previously rented house has now been “fully re-decorated” since the departure of Jedward and the other acts as it prepares to be sold to prospective international buyers.

Chloe Sidgwick, Head of Global PR at Quintessentially Estates, who are helping with the sale, said: “Considering that at one stage there were 20 people staying in the house, the property was left in a reasonable condition.

“All of the rooms are now back to their original use. The X Factor media room remains as so, the music room where the contestants has daily vocal lessons is now a children’s play area, and their dressing room is now a study.”

The property has been fully decorated to remove traces of the chaotic TV show and some areas of the house have been replaced so it can be marketed in perfect condition.

Ms Sidgwick added: “The majority of furnishings prior to The X Factor contestants being in the house were put in storage due to their high value.

“The re-decorating has taken some time as work didn’t start early enough.”

Despite housing 12 of the most talked about people in showbiz over the last 6 months she said it is doubtful it will give the property a selling edge over any other house in the area.

She said: “I doubt it will have a better chance of selling, as many of those viewing it are wealthy international buyers and therefore will be less familiar with the show.”
