PUPILS at a local secondary school are celebrating their success after raising £1,100 at a charity fashion show.

Around 180 people attended the fashion show and auction at Mount Grace School in Church Road, Potters Bar, which was raising money for the DEC Haiti appeal.

More than 60 items of clothing donated by Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and Burton were auctioned off, with some going for as much as £90.

The pupils almost doubled their fundraising target of £600 and have now raised nearly £2,000 for the earthquake appeal.

Nancy Hone, director of applied learning, said: "It was fantastic. We have sold all the clothes and people were very generous.

"We raised much more money than we had hoped, and it gave all of the students involved an insight into the fashion industry.

"There was a really good atmosphere so it finished off the term nicely."
