ONLY pure luck saved three people gunned down at a Colindale warehouse rave organised by a London “it” girl, police say.

Donatella Panayiotou, 27, behind the Grime Daily 1st anniversary party, was among guests who fled in terror as a man detectives say is “extremely dangerous” sprayed bullets at the DJ booth with a submachine gun.

She was just yards from two men and a woman, including a DJ known as Werewolf, who were hit by the volley of gunfire at the invite-only event, in Capitol Way, at around 4am on Sunday.

Werewolf, 23, was shot in the chest and buttocks, while a 21-year-old woman was hit in the back and arm and another man, 24, was shot in the ankle.

All three remain in hospital with injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.

Ms Panayiotou used her page on social networking website Twitter to give her account of events later on Sunday.

She said: “Seeing as nobody else has spoken out, I will. I'm deeply sorry for anyone who was hurt or upset by what happened last night.

“It is easy for everyone to throw the blame at different people but all I ask is for people to be more considerate to the more important issues that are going on at present.

“This experience has opened my eyes to a lot and all I can say is now is a time for unity not divide.”

She added: “For those asking, no excuses can be made. I can only offer my sincerest apologies once more. The main priority should be for those hurt.”

Detective Inspector Michael Millar, of the Met Police gun crime unit Trident, said: “It was pure luck that no one was killed during this incident. The gunman fired an automatic weapon into the crowd, hitting three people.

“He is obviously an extremely dangerous individual who had complete disregard to the safety of anyone else at the event.”

Grime Daily is a website that promotes UK urban music, particularly grime - an off shoot of UK garage and rap which first emerged in East London.

Three men were arrested just after the incident following a car crash at the junction of Hay Lane and Edgware Road. They have been bailed pending further inquiries.

A new incident room has been opened by Scotland Yard's Trident team on 020 8733 4774, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
