A JEWISH charity has come up with a fundraising idea based on the popular Channel 4 TV show Come Dine With Me.

Norwood, which helps people with learning difficulties and is based in Golders Green, is encouraging people to try the Come Dine at Mine scheme to help them raise cash.

The idea is to allow people to fundraise and socialise from the comfort of their own dining rooms, and rate their hospitality against friends and neighbours.

In return for participation people are being offered top dinner party tips, recipes from professional caterer Jason Millan and money-off vouchers to use in certain stores.

Nicole Margolis, Norwood events fundraiser, said: “Come Dine at Mine is a fun way for people to organise their own fundraising events to support our work providing life-changing services for people with learning disabilities and children and families in need.”

The event was launched last week at Mr Millan's home in Elstree, welcoming guests with cocktails before moving on to some exotic dishes including loin of tuna and a trio of peppered beef.
