TWO men have been arrested after ramming a police car and narrowly missing a police officer as they tried to make a getaway in a stolen car in East Barnet last night.

They were spotted in the black Audi A3 by officers on patrol in Cat Hill at about 10.50pm, but as they approached the car to speak to the driver he drove at the woman police officer, who leapt out of the way.

The car then hit the police car and two other parked cars, and both the driver and passenger were arrested by the officers.

Investigations discovered the car had been taken from Richmond earlier in the evening.

The pair, aged 26 and 31, have been arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted murder of a police officer and theft of a motor vehicle and are currently being held in custody at Colindale Police Station.

One of the occupants was taken to hospital to be treated for minor injuries, but no police officers or members of the public were hurt.
