MURDER squad detectives are now looking into the death of a woman whose body was found in a flat in Finchley on Wednesday night.
Scotland Yard said the results of a post mortem on the 33-year-old woman had proved “inconclusive” and the death was still being treated as “unexplained”.
Toxicology tests and further examinations are due to be carried out in order to determine the cause of death.
The body was discovered in a studio flat in Ballards Lane at about 6.50pm on Wednesday.
The incident has been passed to the Metropolitan Police Service's homicide and serious crime command. Detectives are still waiting for formal identification to take place and are in the process of tracing the next of kin.
The property where the body was found is above a beauty clinic in the high street.
Neighbours said after the discovery that they were “terrified” and saddened by the news of the death.
