A POWER failure has caused disruption at Hendon Central Tube station this morning.

EDF Energy said power was cut to 22 customers around Queens Road, Hendon Way and Watford Way from about 4am on Saturday.

Most people had electricity back later that afternoon, while the remaining eight properties were restored by 3am today.

Transport for London reported this morning the lift was not working at Hendon Central station, on the Northern Line, due to the power cut.

A statement from EDF said there was still some work going on to find and repair faults meaning teams would be in the area for another few hours.

It added: “We realise how difficult it can be to be without power and would like to reassure customers that we worked as quickly as was safely possible to restore electricity.

“The cause of the interruption is being investigated. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.”
