POTHOLE elimination has been a “complete success” according to the man in charge of roads in Barnet.

Councillor Brian Coleman said all the damage caused to the streets during the cold snap in January and February has now been fixed, after pledging to have it done by November 1.

Around £2.5m has been spent since July in ridding the borough of nearly 60,000-square-metres of potholes from more than 1,000 roads.

Councillor Brian Coleman, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: "The Pothole Elimination Programme has been a complete success, delivered on time and under budget.

“We will continue to monitor our roads to make sure motorists can go about their business safely and smoothly."
