NEARLY 100 tonnes of waste was collected by a special service set up to help Jewish residents enjoy Passover.
Barnet Council's annual Pesach collection service picked up 87 tonnes of household waste and 12.5 tonnes of green and food waste in three refuse trucks which visited 300 roads across the borough.
In the Jewish faith householders get rid of certain foodstuffs and thoroughly clean the house in preparation for the eight-day festival.
The council claims it has reduced the cost of the service, started in 2009, by a quarter this year, by restructuring the schedule the lorries visited roads.
