A WITNESS to a Burnt Oak stabbing has described the terrifying scenes as a group of men attacked a family.

The trio tried to strangle a mother-of-two, stabbed the father of the family in the chest and intimidated the daughter after breaking in through the back garden of the Millfield Road home, at around 10.30pm.

The man is believed to have survived but was rushed to hospital and a first aid kit and syringe still lie on the drive of the semi-detached house, where he was treated.

The attack came just a day after a 27-year-old man was stabbed to death a few streets away in Watling Avenue, Edgware, and it is not currently known whether the police are linking the two.

A neighbour, who asked not to be named, said: “They were trying to kill the husband with a knife. They just cut his chest near his heart.

“I understand they were looking for money because they were asking his daughter ‘where is the money?’ “One other man also attacked the wife just trying to kill her by strangling with his hand. They ran away and the woman was just screaming.”

The witness said she was eating dinner when she heard screams coming from the house and came outside to find the father bleeding on the driveway.

She said: “The mother was shaking and asking neighbours ‘why didn’t you come? I was shouting and nobody came out.’ “I was trying to help and hug them and give them some water but its shock. It was a big shock for her. There was no colour in her face.

“She had dark hair but you could see she was so pale and the girl as well because because when they attacked her to ask for money she was really shocked.”
