CHEERLEADERS from Potters Bar competed in the Future Cheer Winter Wonderland competition this month, emerging as champions.

Members of Hertstoppers Cheerleading Club, aged from six to 27 years, took part in the competition in Crystal Palace, with the senior squad, Herts Elite, winners of their division.

The mini squad - Little Herts aged six to nine years - placed second, while the youth and junior teams, Herts Extreme and Herts Fusion, both finished third in their level two divisions at the London wide competition.

Head coach and manager Amy Pike said: "I am so proud of all of the athletes, they have only been training their new routines for six weeks and looked amazing at their competition.

"We are now looking forward to competing again early next year."

The club is hosting a free trial on Monday, January 16, from 6pm for boys and girls aged over five years.
