Peter Pan, Batman and a Dr Who dalek were among hundreds of fun runners who helped raise more than £12,000 for Sport Relief yesterday.
Three hundred people donned their favourite fancy dress as they ran either one, three or six miles at Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Temple, in Finchley Road, Golders Green.
Muks Rabadia, race organiser, said: “It was a fun packed event that the whole community embraced.
“We had people coming from all over north west London and it was fantastic so many people decided to give up their Sunday afternoon to raise money for charity.”
Synagogues, churches, mosques, youth clubs, schools and gym members also got involved, as well as 99-year-old Rose Pemberton, who completed most of her mile in a wheelchair before walking to the finish line.
Runners were entertained by members of the temple's traditional Scottish Pipe Band and Punjabi Drum players, while MPs Mike Freer and Matthew Offord cheered them on from the sidelines.
Temple trustee Dr Mahesh Varsani said: “Race organisers agree the money raised will make the world of difference to people leading really tough lives, both here in the UK and across the world’s poorest countries.”
