A drunken thug who fractured the arm of a female paramedic sent to help him has been jailed for two years.

Wayne Kielkowski, 30, of Stockford Avenue, Mill Hill, was sentenced at Wood Green Crown Court on June 14 after pleading guilty to the attack.

During the assault he hit, kicked and bit emergency service workers as well as dishing out death threats to them and their families.

The crime took place on January 29 at 1pm in Barfield Avenue, East Barnet.

The defendant attended the home of a relative after consuming both drink and drugs.

He beat on the door, made threats and then broke a window.

As a result of his intoxication he then collapsed in the front garden and an ambulance was called.

The first person to attend was a lone female paramedic who saw Kielkowski crawling down the garden.

He then stood up but fell into a fence breaking a panel.

He picked up the panel and swung it at the paramedic’s head.

In order to protect her head she lifted up her arm which took the force of the blow and was fractured.

A second team of paramedics then arrived and told Kielkowski to put down the fence post but one of them was struck on the back and elbow.

The drunken man then threw the wood at the ambulance which it bounced off hitting another paramedic.

When police arrived at the scene two officers tried to restrain him but Kielkowski bit the hand of one and kicked another in the face.

Eventually, more officers arrived and the thug was arrested and cautioned.

He is reported to have told officers: “In 14 days I will start killing each one of you, one at a time.”

The defendant then proceeded to racially abuse police officers and paramedics and made threats against them and their families.

Due to his intoxication he was taken to hospital but he continued to spit saliva and blood at officers.

Finally he fell asleep and when he woke up claimed to be unaware of his actions and apologised to the officers.

Officer in the case, Detective Constable Allen Windsor, said: “The attack on the victims was unwarranted; they were paramedics who were only there to help Mr. Kielkowski in his time of need.

“Instead he viciously attacked them and the two police officers who had arrived to protect the paramedics.

“Mr. Kielkowski also vilely racially abused two police officers, threatened their families and damaged an LAS car. This man’s abuse of drugs and alcohol has lead to violence, injury and inevitably prison.”

He was sentenced for one count of GBH and also pleaded guilty to two counts of assault causing ABH, two counts of racially aggravated assault by beating and one count of criminal damage and assault by beating.

The court also heard that Kielkowski had previous convictions for GBH and criminal damage.
