Saracens rugby club plans to relocate to Mill Hill at the end of the 2012/13 season as development work begins at Barnet Copthall Stadium.

The club hopes to play their last five matches at their new stadium which should be fully renovated by February 2013.

Nigel Wray, chairman of Saracens, said: “We are delighted that works are underway to create such a unique community and sporting asset that will inspire and motivate.

“We are totally committed to continuing to work with the local community and are extremely happy to offer priority booking to Barnet residents. Existing season-ticket holders will not be disadvantaged.”

The grounds will include an artificial turf pitch and indoor training areas which schools can use free of charge.
