An East Barnet resident’s request to erect a memorial bench for her late husband has been unfulfilled for more than a year.
Dorothy Todd, 84, wanted to erect a bench in memory of her husband, Ronald Todd, who died 18 months ago.
She had planned for the bench to be placed in East Barnet village, where her husband grew up.
She made her request to Barnet Council in December 2010, and sent a payment of more than £1,000 in August 2011. To date, no further progress has been made by the council.
Mrs Todd’s son contacted the council around Easter this year, and told her that her details may have been lost.
She said: “I’m really getting a bit cross with it now. We all want something around the village to make it look a bit nicer. We’d like somewhere to sit down.”
The Times Series is awaiting a response from Barnet Council regarding the status of Mrs Todd’s request.
