The Barnet FC Supporters Trust has released a ‘Back 2 Barnet’ song as part of their campaign to bring the Bees back to the borough.

Barnet left Underhill, their home of 106 years, at the end of last season and, from August, will play their first team matches at The Hive in Harrow.

The ‘Back 2 Barnet campaign song has been written and recorded Barnet-based musician Phil Fetherston, produced and played by Mick Hutchings.

It received its first public hearing at the start of the Barnet Music Festival and a live performance is anticipated at the East Barnet Festival at Oakhill Park this weekend.

Derek Rocholl, Barnet Supporters Trust Chairman, said: “We are delighted with the way the song has been received by music festival audiences.

"The work that Phil, Mick, Adam and others put in has produced a song that conveys the campaign message in a powerful but catchy and upbeat way.”

He added: “They have exceeded our expectations and given a great demonstration of the musical talent present in Barnet.”

A CD of the ‘Back to Barnet’ song will be on sale at the Supporters Trust stand at the East Barnet Festival and can be purchased now via iTunes or through www.bfctrust.co.uk. All proceeds will go to the campaign to bring The Bees back to Barnet.
