Croydon and Sutton GLA member, Councillor Andrew Pelling, will be arguing the case to fast track a change in the law to allow minicab drivers to display signs to advertise their legitimacy.
Councillor Pelling will be debating the issue at a GLA members' meeting today (June 12) in a bid to push the issue to the forefront of the political agenda.
The Croydon Guardian has published a series of stories in recent weeks about the problems facing genuine minicab drivers in the borough who aren't able to display business signs in their vehicles.
A by-law in London prohibits minicab companies from displaying such signs.
