A GOLF cup has been renamed in honour of a 55-year-old who died of ovarian cancer.

The Ladies Single Cup, awarded during the Alzheimer's Disease Golf Society (ADGS), has been renamed to honour Mandy Fisher after the daughter of Alzheimer's Disease campaigner Morella Kayman lost her battle with ovarian cancer.

The 55-year-old died in February after being diagnosed in March 2014.

Ms Fisher’s mother, Morella Kayman, was the ADGS Chair for more than 30 years after having co-founded the Alzheimer’s Society when her husband Lawrence Fisher was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer’s in the late 1970s.

The renamed trophy was won by Janet Cohen who was one of 76 players in 19 teams who helped to raise £18,000 for the Lawrence Fisher Fund with the money going towards support services for people living with dementia.

Winner’s of last week’s tournament also included Howard Joseph, Adam Marks, David Walton, Graham Julius and Clive Rubin,
