Campaigners fighting to save a derelict pavilion building say it has “totally changed the feel of the area”.
The friends of Cherry Tree Wood want to talk with the leaseholder of the pavilion building in East Finchley, to sort something out once and for all.
Their aim is to make the site safe again for the community, as the wood attracts many visitors on a daily basis and is used for school trips and school sports day events.
One supprter, Diane, said the area was safe before the building became unsafe.
She said: “This site has been an eye sore and health hazard for years. Now we have anti-social and criminal activity occurring in what is a family recreational and historic woodland park.
“The derelict building has totally changed the feel of the wood and the feel of surrounding area.
“It has building has been left in an extremely unsafe condition, with totally inadequate fencing around the site. It has become an urgent health and safety issue.”
