A POLICE recruit resigned after allegedly showing fellow trainees a video of him carrying out a sex act on an unconscious woman recruit in Hendon.

A national newspaper reported how the unnamed PC, in his 20s, allegedly assaulted the woman after she passed out at his flat following a night out.

It then claimed the man showed the mobile phone video to colleagues in the canteen at the Metropolitan Police training college, in Aerodrome Road, last November.

When he was confronted by his bosses, the PC resigned on the spot.

Another man, who had been drinking with the pair, was reprimanded after failing to report the attack.

A spokeswoman for the Metropolitan Police Service said: "Following investigations into inappropriate behaviour of recruits we can confirm one male recruit resigned immediately and another recruit was given words of advice regarding future conduct."

It is the latest in a series of scandals to hit the college, which Prince William visited earlier this year.

In 2003, recruit Spencer Harley, then 30, was jailed for six years after raping a police cadet in her Hendon lodgings.

Last year, PC Simon McKenzie, then 41, from Leighton Buzzard, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 23-year-old woman.

And in November, PC Dan Rands was barred from working with recruits after sending a trainee policewoman a mobile phone video of him naked and performing a sex act.
