A GROUP of friends took part in a 24-hour darts marathon, raising £2,000 for Cancer Research and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Ten players, including Rohit Rabadia, 31, from Hendon, were surrounded by darts fans as they completed the challenge at Chiswick memorial club last Friday and Saturday.
During the first two hours, the team clocked up 18 top scores of 180 points, four of which were secured by Mr Rabadia who is the first Asian to play in the British Darts Organisation (BDO) circuit.
Mr Rabadia said: “The hardest part of the marathon was from 3am to 11am, when the majority of the spectators had gone home to freshen up.”
Supporters were also encouraged to play a mini knockout tournament to raise more cash for the charities and Dean Winstanley, current BDO world number one, and Stephen Bunting, World Youth Champion, turned up to show off their skills.
The team are still collecting more money and the full amount raised will be shown on www.virginmoneygiving.com/rohitrabadia
