On Friday, June 20, the Friern Barnet Community Library held a Question Time evening at which three local councillors were present – one Labour and two Conservative.
Cllr Richard Cornelius is a member of the local Conservative party under whose leadership this very library was closed and the books removed with the intention of knocking down the building and selling the land to developers. This very same person announced that he was “very pleased that this is successful”. Doesn’t that remind you of the character Janus? It does me.
Three questions were directed to Cllr John Hart and while listening to the questions each time he said quietly “I don’t know about that”, and proceeded to prove the point.
I would ask the voters of Barnet borough three questions: Do these two really represent your views? Did you know what they were like when you voted for the Conservative party? Would you honestly do the same again?
