On Saturday, August 9, 2014, at 11am, people in Barnet will remember the victims of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945.
The remembrance ceremony will be under the commemorative cherry tree, near the cafe in Victoria Park, Ballards Lane, Finchley, N3.
Billions of pounds are spent on nuclear weapons, which should be used for social needs and to end poverty. So much is spent on weapons, and so little on conflict prevention.
People are welcome to bring a poem, song or thought to share.
