The irony of Councillor Gabriel Rozenberg talking about diversity and tolerance in one breath and then praising Barnet Borough Council’s housing policy in the next is breathtaking (‘Housing crisis claim is nonsense’, Your Views, February 26).
This is the same Tory council that is consulting on raising council rents up to 80 per cent market rate, effectively abolishing the concept of council housing in Barnet.
The same administration that doesn’t seem to care that tenants are thrown out of the homes in Sweets Way, Whetstone, to make way for luxury flats.
The same council which has broken a litany of promises to West Hendon residents, including providing every resident with a new home in the new development.
It’s all very well boasting about building 2,000 homes in West Hendon, but with only 12.5 per cent affordable, it’s clear how little Barnet Tories really care about promoting diverse communities in the borough.
