Shaftesbury Barnet Harriers Under-15/17 Men’s side stormed to victory at the first Active Training World Metropolitan League match.

Harriers’ Liam (13.34) and Jaime Dee (13.43) led the way for the defending champions as they came home in first and second.

Rory Mudd (14.12) was fifth while Billy Kelsey stopped the clock on 14.14 for sixth position.

Kyle Langford (14.25) secured eighth and Khalid Ali-Ahmed (15.22) crossed the line in 24th.

Nathan Davies, Kevin Kapapiro, Ashley Altman, James Noble-Brown and Julian Lamy also all posted competitive times to help Barnet to 198 points, 45 ahead of Herts Phoenix in second.

The Under-13 boy’s side were unable to retain their title as they came second.

The 3000m race was won by Jamie Harper in 10.44 and he was followed home by Tom Fulton (11.14) in second.

Hamza Kadir (12.42) crossed the line in 21st to help the team to a final total of 87 points, just two behind Thames Valley Harriers who secured top spot.

The Under-15/17 Women’s team finished third in their race, held over 4000m. Natalie Connor (17.00) in sixth and Lianne Langford (17.06) in seventh were the pick of the Barnet athletes.

The senior women’s team finished third. Victoria Webster finished the 6000m in second place in 21.35 while Margaret Cooper (23.29) was 19th.

Marie Munk-Jakobson, Rebekah Gardiner, Marilyn Okoro, Suzu Sato and Emily Neilan all completed the course to help Harriers to a total of 161 points. Serpentine came away victorious with an impressive 218.

The club’s senior men side secured fifth place finish. The 8000m race was very close with Jake Shelley and Niall Fleming finishing second and third respectively in the same time of 25.13.

Their performances were the pick of the Shaftesbury Barnet competitors who claimed 735 points. Woodford Green were the overall winners with a final total of 1161 points.
