Barnet Elizabethans poor form in London Three North West League continued as they were beaten 15-13 against Hitchin.

A penalty from Rob Cameron-Staff put Elizabethans ahead after just two minutes but the home side then attacked strongly for the rest of the half.

However, Barnet defended well and managed to maintain their slender advantage to go in at the break 3-0 ahead.

After the interval, Hitchin continued to control the contest and finally made their dominance count as they scored two quick tries.

Barnet fought back into the game and they reduced the deficit as James Mansfield touched down at a pushover scrum.

Cameron-Staff converted the try and then added a second penalty to put Barnet ahead in the closing stages.

But a successful Hitchin penalty saw the hosts secure victory and condemn Elizabethans to another defeat.

Barnet have a tough task in their League game at home this Saturday (27th) when their visitors are Imperial Medicals.
