Total Football Academy Totteridge Under-9 Lions were crowned champions of Division One for phase one after their 5-1 win over St Joseph's.

Despite having four players sign for professional academies over the summer, the Lions won the title by six points after winning nine and drawing one of their ten games.

The Under-10 Lions, also in the top division, finished second after their 8-2 victory over FC Real. The Under-10 Leopards won promotion after finishing runners-up. Both will be looking to come top in phase two.

It has been a fantastic first half of the season for TFA Totteridge, who in just two and a half years have become the biggest club in Barnet for the age group it serves.

The Under-7s are currently regarded as the best around having lost just once and finished the phase off with a 9-0 victory. Five of there players are currently training at professional clubs. The Under-7 Tigers bettered the result with a clinical 11-0 win.

The 14 Lions, who are currently sitting top of their division, also finished the first half of the season on a high, despite starting with just nine players and finishing with eight, with a 11-1 win against Hillington Youth to progress through to the next round of the League Cup.

The future is looking even brighter for TFA. Their Under-6s have already played three friendlies and remain unbeaten, having scored 21 and conceded just two. Four of their players are currently at professional academies.

Academy director Socratis Socratous said: "This first half of the year has been incredible. To win the top division of arguably the best league in the SE of England is a fantastic achievement seeing as the club has only been around for two and a half years.

"The talent across all age groups is incredible. What differentiates us from other clubs? We don't have parents managing teams and building teams around their kids - all our coaches are independent FA qualified coaches, most of whom are semi-professionals."

TFA are also recruiting for a new Under-9s team that starts the new phase in January. If you want your child to join a local team or just train over the weekend call 07825 226011 or email
