Edgar Davids admits it “is always sad to see people leave” following Mark Robson’s departure from Barnet but the Dutchman insists nothing has changed for the Bees.

Davids’ first game in sole charge of Barnet ended with his side fighting back from two goals behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Exeter City.

It was a result which helped Barnet move four points clear of the relegation zone and the Bees head coach stated his side must continue to progress.

He said: "It's still the same. Nothing has changed really. Now we need to get the results in.

"We are looking for progress and every game we have to see if there is a positive trend and work on the negatives. So far we are doing OK."

He added: “It is always sad to see people leave but sometimes it is best for the club.”

“I think he had a chat with the chairman and what was said in that remains there so I can’t really talk about it.”

When asked what the former Juventus midfielder is expecting from the rest of the League Two campaign, he replied: "I think this is a very exciting league. We have a long-term strategy. That is why we are always talking about progress.

"It is not only about one win or results for tomorrow but the future. We have to build for Barnet to be on a certain level."
