Barnet goalkeeper Graham Stack says the Bees will play “with no fear” at Northampton Town on Saturday despite knowing that defeat could see the club relegated from the Football League.

Edgar Davids’ side sit 22nd in League Two and are just a point above the relegation zone going into the final match of the season.

Aldershot Town are bottom of the division and will require a remarkable set of results in order to survive.

That leaves six teams battling to avoid the second relegation spot. Each side knows a victory will keep them in League Two.

“The only way we can be certain of staying up is to win,” said Stack.

“Our destiny is in our own hands which is what you want going into the last game of the season. We could lose and still stay up but that is not the attitude we will approach the game with.

“So we are capable of going to sides above us in the table and doing well.

“We will play with no fear and go to Northampton knowing exactly what is required.”

It could have been so different for the Bees had Jake Hyde not scored an 81st-minute winner and Stack saved a last-minute penalty, against Wycombe Wanderers on Saturday.

“We should have picked up better results in recent weeks but Saturday was massive for us,” said Hyde, who has netted 14 goals this season.

“Staying up is now in our hands. The last thing we wanted was to be depending on other teams, especially as they all seem to keep getting results.

“We will go to Northampton and give it our best and that will hopefully be enough.”
