Dereck Chisora has set his sights on a rematch with Vitali Klitschko after the Finchley fighter inflicted a first defeat upon Malik Scott to capture the WBO International heavyweight title.

The 29-year-old, who had lost four of his past six fights, started Saturday’s bout on the front foot and he caught Scott with a powerful blow in the first round.

But the American fought back over the next four rounds and there was little to separate the two fighters.

In the sixth, Chisora knocked down Scott with a commanding right-rook. It floored the 32-year-old from Philadelphia and he didn’t rise to his feet until the referee Phil Edwards had reached a count of nine.

However, Edwards decided that Scott was unable to continue and the bout and title were awarded to ‘Del Boy’.

Chisora, who has changed his diet and undertaken anger-management classes in an attempt to get his career back on track, now hopes to take on Klitschko for a second time.

He said: "I knew if I caught him (Scott) he was going to go down, and I caught him," Chisora told Box Nation.

"I want to go back to Germany and fight Vitali again."

That bout will have to wait however as promoter Frank Warren has confirmed Chisora will return to the ring on September 21 at the first fight night at the London 2012 Olympic venue, the Copper Box.
