Barnet full-back Andy Yiadom has been fined £1,000, subject to any appeal, and warned about his future conduct by an Independent Regulatory Commission after breaching an FA betting rule.
Yiadom admitting to breaking FA Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting but the club have said it is an incident which has "no relation to Barnet FC".
Yiadom, who played in last night's 2-1 win against Grimsby Town, has made 29 appearances for the Bees this season.
Barnet have released the following statement: "At an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Barnet’s Andrew Yiadom was fined £1,000, subject to any appeal, and warned as to his future conduct after he admitted breaches of FA Rule E8(b) for misconduct in relation to betting.
"Although this was a minor incident that had no relation to Barnet FC it strongly underlines the FA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of the sport and as a club we fully understand their decision.
"Andy is an honest and hard-working professional who will learn from his mistake and ensure the same errors in judgement are not repeated and as a club we will continue to support Andy moving forward."
