Wingate & Finchley came back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with Hampton & Richmond Borough on Saturday.

The Blues fell behind after seven minutes when Jake Rose lashed home, before Thomas Collins doubled the visitors’ advantage shortly before the half-an-hour mark.

David Knight got the first back for Wingate & Finchley when his free-kick deceived everyone, and in the 84th minute, Knight levelled from the spot after Rob Laney was brought down by goalkeeper Mark Smith.

Danny Nielsen and Dave Norman’s side reached round three of the Middlesex Cup with a 3-1 penalty shoot-out win over Cray Wanderers on Tuesday following a 2-2 draw.

Knight continued his fine form from Saturday with another brace before Harold Joseph hit the winning spot-kick.
