Team Great Britain junior skier Robert Poth was left frustrated with his performance in in the boys’ slalom at the European Youth Olympic Festival in Austria and Lichtenstein.
The 16-year-old from Potters Bar skied well in the slalom first run but straddled a gate on run two, having previously come 47th in the giant slalom.
Poth, pictured, said: “I am frustrated with my performance this week in general. I was hoping the slalom race would boost my confidence for the races after but unfortunately I haven’t really performed very well at all.
“The second run did not really go very well. I straddled a gate at the top but carried on and then I hit a bump and missed a gate at the finish.
“It’s disappointing because I wasn’t too pleased with my first either. I am really frustrated with my performance today.”
He added: “Aside from my performance this week I have really enjoyed the whole EYOF experience, it is one of the best experiences I have ever had. I am just really annoyed that I couldn’t get a decent result.”
Poth was also part of Team GB’s mixed parallel giant slalom beaten by Austria the following day, with teammate Zak Vinter failing to complete the course.
