Barnet chairman Tony Kleanthous has moved to reassure the club's fans after the departure of Gavin Hoyte and Sam Togwell to Eastleigh, following old head coach Martin Allen to Hampshire.

The duo are the third and fourth players to leave The Hive for the National League club over the past month - with Bondz N'Gala signed by then-boss Ronnie Moore barely a week before he made way for Allen.

Hoyte had only managed 106 minutes of league football for the Bees this season but Togwell had started 11 games in League 2, and Kleanthous put out a rare statement on the club's website in an effort to quell concerns that may arise from the latest outgoings.

"This is not a fire sale by any means," he said. "We have been very focussed on building the facilities at The Hive for a few years and what we have now is an international class facility that every supporter can be proud of.

"Martin did a good job getting us promoted and stabilising the Club. His departure is not a problem at all and neither is the departure of the players who have left to join him, they all leave with our best wishes.

"We have a transfer kitty available for players, although this does not necessarily mean you will see transfer fees.

"Our coaches are great at what they do, our marketing and promotions will improve, our crowds will increase and over the next 12 to 18 months you will see changes in our playing style and recruitment policy as we start to put together the ingredients needed for promotion."
