Nicke Kabamba's hat-trick helped Barnet get the better of Ebbsfleet at The Hive on Bank Holiday Monday.

Beaten by basement boys Dagenham & Redbridge two days earlier, the Bees saw Harry Pritchard denied early on and Ben Wynter and Ben Coker also have efforts blocked in a bright start.

Zak Brunt sent another attempt wide, before Ebbsfleet opened the scoring on 21 minutes through Dominic Poleon.

Coker was booked soon after, with Wynter seeing a tempting ball across the face of the visiting goal go to waste.

Dale Gorman had a free-kick punched clear and Pritchard was foiled by the visiting defence before shooting just wide in the fifth minute of first-half stoppage time.

But Kabamba got Dean Brennan's men back on terms in the eighth minute of injury time, with a diving header from another teasing Wynter cross.

Brunt fired wide soon after the restart, with Anthony Hartigan seeing a long-range effort tipped away by the visiting keeper.

Brennan was then shown a yellow card and Gorman had a shot deflected behind before Kabamba put the hosts 2-1 up on 62 minutes, smashing home from close range when a cross from Brunt fell kindly to him.

Barnet's joy was shortlived, though, as Poleon grabbed his second to square matters again on 69 minutes and Brunt sent a dipping effort over the crossbar as the home side pushed again.

However, Kabamba made it 3-2 on 80 minutes when Brunt sent a cross into the box and he tapped home.

And it proved decisive as the hosts got back to winning ways after Saturday's disappointment in east London.
