Most clubs would be satisfied to claim one aspiring star of British tennis.

Oakleigh Park can boast TWO.

While 22-year-old James Ward, who shot to fame for his stirring performance at the Artois Championship recently, missed out on a Wimbledon wildcard, teenager Tom Knights did play at the All England Club, in the junior event.

Tom lost his first-round match 6-4, 6-4, but the experience is sure to stand him in good stead for the future.

The Totteridge youngster received a wildcard for the event, playing his match on Saturday.

His recent achievements include qualifying for the French Open junior competition at Roland Garros.

Tom has been a member of Whetstone-based Oakleigh Park since he was five.

He, like Ward, came under the watchful eye of head coach Daren Quilty, and there are high hopes that he too will soon be challenging the very best in the adult game.

An Oakleigh Park spokesperson said the club was "ecstatic" that not one, but two of its members looked destined to go on to great things in the sport.
