The aptly-named David Bowler won the singles’ competition during Finchley & District BA finals day at Finchley BC.
Bowler, of Oakhill BC, beat Bishopwood’s Terry Doe 21-19.
The finals were watched by an enthusiastic crowd, and the bowling was of a high standard, producing many exciting games.
Results: Pairs: Len Rutt, Ian Ellis (Finchley) beat Len Wildman, John Abson (Oakhill)19-10; Triples: David Bowler, Michael Levy, C.Golan (Oakhill) beat James Cohen, Alan Cohen, Terry Doe (Bishopswood) 21-19; Tudor Cup (Champion of Champions): John McBride (West Finchley) beat Robbie French (Brondesbury) 21-4; Secretaries & Treasurers: Don East (Barnet) beat Robert Ward(Paddington) 21-9; Prentice Cup: Kingsbury BC beat Bishopswood BC 49-32.
* Mill Hill BC Ladies had a very good win over Lupton BC, while the men saw off Finchley BC 53-52.
Both teams then combined to see off East Barnet Valley BC 75-55 in a mixed match.
* Hendon Ladies BC beat Century BC 35-32, but the club’s men could not see off their contemporaries, going down to an 80-73 defeat.
