Aldershot Town provide the opposition for Barnet for the second time in six days as the Bees complete their festive double header against the Hampshire outfit.

After Barnet's 3-1 Boxing Day win at The Recreation Ground extended The Shots' winless run to seven games in all competitions, Andy Scott's side promptly brought that streak to an end with a 2-1 win at local rivals Woking on Sunday.

First-half goals from Andre McCollin and Brett Williams saw The Shots secure their first victory since a 3-1 victory at Southport on November 25.

And speaking after the win to Get Hampshire, Scott said: "There was a real determination to get the three points. We knew it was a massive game to the fans, and to the club.

"It's been a really tough stretch of games but today we've scored two goals and could have had a hat -full. We were a real threat.

"From minute one there was a real energy and desire for us to get the win. We dominated the game for the majority and got our reward. They couldn't cope with us."

The pressure had been mounting on former Brentford and Rotherham United boss Scott, who has been, thus far, unable to help the club kick on after narrowly avoiding relegation last term.

A ten point deduction was overcome - largely thanks to four wins from their final seven fixtures - and the phoenix club avoided the ignominy of back-to-back relegations after dropping out of the Football League in 2013.

It has been something of a stop-start affair this time around, with The Shots currently nestled in 17th between a cluster of side tantalising close to the middle of the pack and similarly glancing over their shoulders at the relegation zone.

Back-to-back victories have only been achieved once this term - something which has hardly helped The Shots' cause. Aldershot's away form is better than their home record too, with 20 points garnered on the road compared to the 17 collected at The Recreation Ground.

Scoring an average of just 1.11 goals per game has also undermined The Shots, who have relied heavily on ten-goal top-scorer Williams. The club's next highest scorers are Sam Hatton, Jordan Roberts and Dan Holman, who are all tied on three league strikes.

The capture of Kingstonian striker McCollin has gone some way to making up that shortfall, with the former Yeovil Town and Farnborough forward joining from the Isthmian Premier Division outfit in mid-October.

Boss Scott said of the 29-year-old's signing at the time: "We also feel that Andre can fit into the team really well. He's got a good goalscoring record, plenty of energy, is quick and strong and holds the ball up well."

McCollin had previously netted 58 times in 109 appearances for the K's.

Aldershot Town XI vs Woking (28.12.14): Thomas; Gibbs, Oastler, Barker, Roberts; Hatton, Forbes, Oyeleke; Williams, Holman, McCollin.
