Martin Allen says Barnet goalkeeper Jamie Stephens is a doubt for Saturday’s home game against Dagenham & Redbridge after revealing he had been injured prior to his sending off at Portsmouth.
Stephens, already filling in for the injured Graham Stack, was dismissed at Pompey the weekend before last after picking up two bookings.
A one-game suspension forced Martin Allen to sign Oxford United goalkeeper Max Crocombe on loan after a deal for free agent Darryl Flahavan – formerly of Bournemouth and Portsmouth – was not completed.
Crocombe has moved on a month’s loan and made his debut in Saturday’s 3-2 win over Stevenage at The Hive.
However, the New Zealander looks likely to be called upon once more for the visit of Wayne Burnett’s Daggers this weekend.
Speaking after victory over Boro, head coach Allen said: “He (Stephens) was injured before the Portsmouth game but we played at Portsmouth with that injury but I had to keep that quiet.
“He has got a slight groin strain – that is all it is at the moment – so he will be fine.”
Allen needed: “Obviously we needed a goalkeeper with Jamie suspended and now Jamie has also got an injury so we are snookered on that one at the moment.”
