Barnet attacker Ben Tomlinson was unable to prevent loan club Tranmere Rovers slipping to a 1-0 defeat at former side Lincoln City in the National League on Saturday.

With an enforced two-week break following his debut against Dover Athletic, Tomlinson was making just his second start for the Merseysiders following a three-month loan switch.

However, starting up front, Tomlinson was unable to find a way past his former teammates at Sincil Bank and was replaced after 74 minutes by former Bee Adam Mekki.

In the FA Trophy second qualifying round, young defender Harry Taylor got another 90 minutes under his belt as Hampton & Richmond Borough eased into the next round with a 3-1 win over AFC Sudbury.

Former Bee Jamal Lowe gave the Beavers the lead before a brace from Charlie Moone ensured their place in the hat for the third qualifying round.

Elsehwere, Joe Gater only managed 51 minutes of Cheshunt’s FA Trophy defeat at Thurrock as former Bee Charlie Stimson netted twice.

Gater, who had been booked on the stroke of half-time, was replaced six minutes into the second half with the Ambers trailing 2-1 to a Stimson double.

Lewwis Spence added a third before Kyle Asante pulled a second goal back for the visitors just after the hour.

Shane Cojocarel was an unused substitute as Billericay Town beat Harrow Borough to advance.

In the Southern League Division One Central, centre-back Charlie Kennedy played the full 90 minutes as Northwood were held to a goalless draw at local rivals Aylesbury.
