London Broncos brought their Super League stay to an end with a 46-36 defeat against fellow relegated side, Bradford Bulls, at The Hive on Saturday.

Both sides have been condemned to relegation into the Championship for some time but head coach Joey Grima could not hide his disappointment at the manner of the Broncos’ 26th and final defeat of a long season.

He told the club’s website: “I’m probably more disappointed today than I was when Warrington put 70 points on us five weeks ago. I thought we showed a lot of mental toughness to get back after being 16-0 down.

“Going in at half-time it was really clear what we needed to do. We probably overplayed the situation a little bit, trying to manufacture some things that weren’t there.

“We lost our head, which is a little bit frustrating, but fair credit goes to Bradford and coach James Lowes for their efforts.”

Having trailed 16-0, the Londoners took a 18-16 lead thanks to tries from Matt Cook, Joe Keyes and Josh Drinkwater. The hosts built upon their advantage to go 30-16 ahead thanks to further scores from Erjon Dollapi and Drinkwater.

However, three converted tries in nine minutes did for the Broncos; Brett Kearney, Jay Pitts and Luke Gale all going over to turn the game on its head and ensure London would not end the season with a second win of the campaign.

The re-build ahead of life in the second tier has continued, with Warrington Wolves pair Glenn Riley and Brad Dwyer joining.

Front-rower Riley joins on a one-year permanent deal, whilst hooker Dwyer has agreed a one-year loan move for the 2015 campaign.

Dwyer, 21, played ten games for Warrington last term and spent time with Swinton Lions on a dual registration.

He told the club site: “I’m looking forward to the different challenges that joining London will throw at me.

“Playing regular consistent rugby is something I haven’t had and hopefully I’ll get. Also moving away from home to London and growing up is an exciting change for me.”

Riley, also 21, highlighted the influence of head coach Grima in his decision and said: “Joey’s enthusiasm and passion was also another big reason why I chose London and the plans he has in place to achieve the winning culture really stood out.”

The Broncos have also signed Matt Davies and Ben Grey from the RFL Midlands Regional Academy on one-year contracts.

Both players will train with the first team until October before linking up with the club’s Under-19 side.
