Hendon came up short against National League South new-boys Maidstone United as they lost 4-0 in the Isthmian League Charity Shield on Saturday.
As Isthmian League Cup winners the Greens earned the right to face Jay Saunders' Isthmian Premier Division champions but the margin between the two proved significant on the day.
The Greens included four debutants - Russell Short, Joe Wright, Hassan Sulaiman and Mahrez Bettache - but were behind as early as the second minute thanks to a Callum Driver effort.
Jay May doubled the Stones' lead before second-half goals from Alex Akrofi - the second of which was a penalty - completed the rout of Gary McCann's side.

The Greens have also announced Jake Cass, most recently of AFC Hayes, and former Fulham and Charlton Athletic youngster Courtney Harris have signed forms ahead of the 2015/16 season.
Hendon start the new season at Grays Athletic on Saturday.
