Hendon were 2-1 winners at Met Police to give manager Gary McCann a happy 700th game in charge on Saturday and lift the club to fourth in the Isthmian Premier League table.
Their first three points on the road this season were sealed late on when Keagan Cole won a late penalty, which he stepped up to beat Police goalkeeper Luke Williams at the second attempt.
The long arm of the law looked to have secured a point when Jay Gasson cancelled out Zak Joseph's early goal midway through the second half before Williams' foul gave away the spot kick.
But after the late penalty got the visitors out of jail, it puts them only three places off their highest ever position in the seventh tier, after finishing top of what was then named the Isthmian League in 1973.
Tonight, the Greens travel to Dulwich Hamlet in the league, with kick-off at 7.45pm.
